DESCRIPTION:

Originating from China and the Far East, mandarin is now grown commercially in Italy, Spain, Cyprus and the Middle East. The name "mandarin" is thought to refer to the fruit's popularity among the rulers of China - the mandarins. Closer to home, mandarins were successfully introduced to Southern Europe in the early 20th century, and as they were only available in the winter months, they became popular as British Christmas stocking fillers. When the fruit is pressed, a sharp, sweet-bitter essential oil is released from the peel. This essential oil can be used in aromatherapy to help relieve mental fatigue and lift the mood. It is also an effective facial cleanser, working to open pores and remove dead skin cells.


COMPOSITION:

100% Citrus nobilis (mandarin) peel oil

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

In a vaporiser: add 6 to 8 drops of essential oil to a vaporiser or burner. Inhalation: add 3 to 5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of very hot water, inhale the vapours for 5 to 10 minutes. (Inhalation only for children over 10 years of age.) For massage: dilute 5 drops of essential oil with 10 ml of a carrier oil, such as almond or jojoba oil. Bath: add 4 to 6 drops of essential oil to 20 ml of carrier oil. Mix into the water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not apply directly to the skin.
