In the United States, Chlorella has been called the "great regulator" because it balances any deviations of the body from the norm. Chlorella is invaluable in situations of particularly intense release of toxins from the body's tissues, such as: fasting, intensive weight loss, starvation diets, or a visit to the sauna.

Four components of chlorella have a particular effect: chlorophyll, beta-carotene, the chlorella growth factor CGF (chlorella growth factor), and the cell wall itself. CGF stimulates the production of macrophages, which are responsible for absorbing and destroying harmful substances.
