Teavigo®obtained from Chinese tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), rich in pure natural catechins. These polyphenols have been shown to exhibit many biochemical and physiological benefits.

Although there are more than 3,000 types of tea, each of them is made from the evergreen teaCamellia sinensis, classified as green tea (unfermented), oolong tea (partially fermented) and black tea (fully fermented).

Partially and fully fermented tea is brown, because fermentation activates enzymatic oxidation or biochemical reactions of the proteins contained in the tea. Green tea is dried quickly, which deactivates enzymes, so it retains its natural green colour and high catechin content. The polyphenols contained in tea are mainly catechins, which make up 20% of the leaves and are responsible for the beneficial effects of green tea on health.

Tea polyphenols are widely used in food, cosmetics, supplements and pharmaceuticals.
