The mussel used in the product is a New Zealand mussel (green-lipped mussel) sourced from the Marlborough region, located at the top of New Zealand's South Island. The product is standardised for glycosaminoglycans (GAG), the content of which in the daily dose is 34.2 mg. The mussel is freeze-dried, which means the product retains high quality without the risk of oxidation or activity of unwanted microorganisms.
